Off the Shoulder Chambray Top

June 20, 2017

It’s finally summertime in Boston! We made it, guys. We’re fully in white jeans season (my favorite!). I’m not sure about you, but this time of year can get a bit hectic for me. I’m always running around now that it’s nicer out – weekend trips to beaches, or trying a new outdoor patio spot with a friend. White jeans are an easy, instant way to dress up a summer look. And jeans are little-to-no maintenance. Although, I did have to take these to the cleaners after getting pizza sauce on them at 4am in New York City one weekend, but semantics, right?!

This chambray top from Nordstrom is another summer favorite of mine. It fits a bit boxy, but I love it paired with the slim fitting pant. Adding an eye-catching earring, like these tassels, is another way to dress up a look. When I wear an off the shoulder top (and we all know I have a dozen shirts similar to this one), I love wearing a bolder earring since my neck and shoulders are bare – it’s a nice way to balance out your look. Did anyone else notice I wore red, white and blue? This was not intentional, but it would make a great outfit for the upcoming 4th of July holiday!

I’m constantly asking friends what they think about wearing off the shoulder tops in the workplace. As obsessed as I am with this trend, I feel like its a bit too revealing for an office look. My office is very casual (I wear jeans almost every day) – but, I don’t like to show that much bare skin. At the end of the day it’s all about what you feel comfortable with. Personally, I’d be self-conscious that my shirt was too casual for the office setting, but I have friends who say they totally disagree. What do you think!?
